Howdy,
First post for me. Been learning fiddle for about 3 years, but I’m pretty advanced on guitar and banjo. Can usually learn tunes by ear pretty quickly. But been stumped by this one.
I’m hoping someone on here can help me figure out how to play the tune Richmond Blues, sometimes also titled All Night Long. I’ve searched google and these forums and can’t seem to find any tabs or anything on it.
It’s a great song recorded originally in the 20s by Foster & Rutherford but I especially like the version with Clarence Ashley, featuring Fred Price on fiddle. I believe it’s in the key of c, which is a key I don’t know many tunes in. Typically play In G, D or A. I just can’t seem to find all the notes for this tune. Perhaps there’s a blues note I’m missing somewhere? I’m assuming it’s in standard tuning but I’m not certain.
Unfortunately, since this is my first post they don’t let me post a YouTube link. But if you search “Fred price Richmond blues “ on YouTube it’s the first result .
Any help with figuring this out would be awesome. I sing and play it on guitar and it’s a fun one but I really wanna learn the fiddle part.
Thank you.
